I think these challenges are an example of apophenia -spontaneous perception of connections and meaningfulness of unrelated phenomena.

What a fantastic interpretation of the quote. You could grow a whole graphic novel if you planted the one seed of that single page.
And thanks for telling me about apophenia. You set me on a fascinating journey into a term I hadn't known before (I also found Pariedolia, which is a kind of apophenia.) This will be great material for a future post.
