Great article. That was really nice of James Warhola to do that. I think you're doing a good thing exposing kids to illustrators in addition to (I assume) classical art. Because my family moved a lot when I was growing up, I had numerous art teachers. I had 4 different ones over my 4 years of high school alone. Mr. Deangelo, my last art teacher in my senior year is the only one I perceived as being excited about art. He was also a big advocate of Frank Frazetta, which I thought was so cool. Engaging your kids in art that appeals to them has got to be inspiring to them.
