New Arrival

New Arrival
Colored Pencil

This drawing is a gift for a friend who recently welcomed his first grandson. I tried to capture that magical moment when a precious meets those who have waited so long to meet him.

Printmaking Experiments

I wanted to create a four color block print inspired by Lichtenstein. First I carved the red block, carving around the little dots. This, of course, is insane, but fun. After carving the other blocks, I printed first in yellow, then red, then blue, then black.
Here are a series of the finished prints. I like the results in that it imitates a mechanical process, but that you can see that it is hand carved. It's like looking at a contradiction.
Before I did the four blocks, I experimented with printing the black block on cut-paper collages. I found some scrapbooking paper that had a Ben Day type pattern.

I/You

I/You
Sketch in watercolor pencil, ink, and acrylic

I made this sketch, thinking of this quote:

“To be yourself in a world
that is constantly trying to make you something else
is the greatest accomplishment.”
