Not long ago I read a couple books by Conrad Hyers:
The Spirituality of Comedy (Comic Heroism in a Tragic World) and
Zen and the Comic Spirit. The second one inspired me to make some quick rough sketchbook comics, which I'm now trying to draw as finished comic strips.
